Whatever you call it, blue is so hot right now
Call it blue, indigo, navy, ink or anything else you like really but, Im putting it out there, this year my colour prediction is blue all the way!
Designers around the world are 'hot' for deep shades of blue to create drama and moody rooms, while leaning toward the softer more muted hues for 'almost there' wall colours. Teamed up with raw/natural fabrics & materials, blue is able to achieve a more subtle colour addition than black and a brighter note than grey.
There a range of tones (lighter) and shades (darker) blues and they all appear to be very similar. Don't be fooled, you need to look very closely and see how they work in various lights and also what they are like together.
You can choose statement pieces or try 'blocking' colour for a great way to add instant impact in a room. Remember that when you create a 'vignette' (cluster of objects) to keep to odd numbers, balance the organisation of the objects, use different textures and/or colours and/or sizes to create interest.
Whatever you decide to do think about your overall colour palette and substitute in blue accents rather than add them.
