Maison & Objet
Maison & Objet Paris bring together interior designers and retailers with the creations and concepts of furniture, decor, textiles and tableware designers (just to name a few). The group also has an objective to 'unearth' new designers the world over and show case their work.
The exhibition is held twice a year in Paris in January and again in September. The 'Sounds of Silence' theme for the January exhibition featured 2,871 exhibitors, a combination of established design houses as well as the 'up-and-comers'. More than 85,000 visitors attended, Retailers and Interior Designers came from around the world to this premiere event and it didn't disappoint.
Whilst I would love to have been there (may be next time) I can share with you some of the most beautiful designs that will be setting trends over the coming years, in upcoming posts.
First up, in this post, I'm featuring the work of the Maison & Objet Designer of the Year, enjoy!
Designer of the Year 2017
This year the coveted award went to French designer and artist, Pierre Charpin.
Having worked with some of the biggest names in design over the past two decades, Charpin is now the hottest designer on the planet. His style is 'poetic minimalism' which translates to stunning simple designs that are beautiful from every angle and in every detail. Here are a few samples of his work.
